Where are you located?:
We are located in Winston-Salem, NC 27127. We do not have a public retail store. For the security of our animals, we do not provide the address of our facility.
Payment:
Checkout page doesn’t have payment option. How can I checkout?:
You do not have to pay at checkout. After clicking “Place Order”, we will first look over your information and make sure we have everything needed. We will then provide you with a shipping quote and a purchase contract. Once signed, we will provide an invoice via Square (or PayPal at your request) for you with the shipping cost and total. If you would like to pay with Afterpay (orders over $500 only) just let us know, and we can send you a custom link to checkout with Afterpay. Please request PayPal or Afterpay using the Order notes field at checkout.
How to pay:
Online orders may be paid via Square Invoice (which allows you to pay via credit or debit card, or by direct bank transfer). We also accept personal checks and money orders by mail. No animals are shipped prior to checks/money orders clearing. We can provide a PayPal Invoice instead of Square by request. We do not accept direct payment via PayPal Goods and Services without sending an invoice.
We now offer Afterpay for online purchases over $500. Just request Afterpay when placing your order (use the Order notes field).
Orders picked up in person may be paid for by card, cash, Afterpay, CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal Friends and Family.
Why do I have to sign a purchase agreement?:
At Mortal Coil Serpentry, sales come second to the well-being of the animals. The contract exists to help insure that animals will be properly cared for and that keepers will comply with their local and state laws. It further makes sure that there is full transparency with our customers and that they know exactly what to expect as we fulfill their order.

Why do I have to pay an invoice?:
Payment via invoice is done to ensure Mortal Coil Serpentry’s compliance with Square and PayPal’s requirements for Seller Protection. This is simply to protect our business and prevent fraud so that we can continue to provide the best self-produced animals at the best price.
Payment Plans:
We offer payment plans on animals over $500 with a non-refundable 30% deposit. We offer 30 day payoff up to $1500, 60 day payoff for $1500-$3000, and 90 day payoff over $3000. There are no refunds for defaulted payment plans. If you cannot finish paying for an animal you will lose the 30% deposit and the remaining balance will be issued as store credit towards a future purchase. We can be flexible with the payoff timeline within reason. We do not offer payment plans under $500 but will hold an animal short-term (not more than 1 week) with a non-refundable 30% deposit for in person pickup only.
We also offer Afterpay for purchases over $500.
Holds:
We offer short-term holds (generally less than 30 days) with a 25% non-refundable deposit.
Refunds:
We do not offer refunds. Any issues with orders will be resolved with either replacement or store credit. If there is any issue with your purchase under the aforementioned condition, please reach out to us and we will work with you to make it right.
Health, Sex, Genetics Guarantee:
We guarantee sex, health, and genetics of all animals. Upon arrival, we ask that you check the animal over. If you notice anything is wrong please contact us immediately. If no contact has been made within 24 hours of arrival we assume you are content with the animal(s) and we no longer take responsibility for them. We are here to help you give your pet a long and happy life, but it is your responsibility to provide them with sufficient care, husbandry, and healthcare.

Cost:
Shipping is usually $35 to $75 with insurance in the continental U.S. for priority overnight delivery. Shipping up to $100 is included in the price on orders over $2000.
Can I pick up in person?:
We welcome pickup near our facility in Winston-Salem, NC, or at any shows we’re attending. Show dates can be found on our website and Facebook page.
When we ship:
We ship one prearranged day per week, usually Tuesday, via priority overnight. We only ship when weather is permitting (between 40°F-90°F). We will let you know when our next shipping day is when you inquire.
Where do we ship:
We ONLY ship to FedEx Ship Center locations in the Continental US. We cannot ship to homes, businesses, FedEx Office, or FedEx Onsite locations. Buyer is responsible for selecting the FedEx Ship Center that is most convenient for them. This is for the safety of the animals as well as to insure that packages are received by their intended recipients.
Picking up your order:
The party who’s legal name is on the package must be the party that picks up the package. FedEx requires that ID be presented. Buyer is responsible for picking up animal(s) within 2 hours of available pickup time (as indicated by the provided tracking number) or all guarantees are null and void. Buyer must notify seller of any dead on arrival animals within 1 hour of pickup and provide video evidence. If an animal arrives DOA, the animal will be replaced with one of equal value or lesser value or the value can be applied toward the purchase of another animal.
Fraud Prevention:
We perform all due diligence to prevent fraud and stand behind the validity of EVERY sale under the terms above. We fully document and track every transaction. Any and all attempted payment reversals WILL be met with litigation and/or criminal prosecution.
